Humber’s Bachelor of Public Relations (BPR) is a comprehensive degree program that will prepare you for all aspects of public relations (PR) in a variety of sectors, including corporate, non-profit, government, consumer, and agency. You will learn to plan, manage and implement a full spectrum of public relations programs: brand management, marketing communications, media relations, investor and government relations, social and digital media management, international PR, or corporate philanthropy programs.
Company courses will enable you to develop and manage budgets efficiently and also recruit, engage and retain PR professionals across sectors. Anchored in PR theory and real life cases, the BPR degree program features skills-based lessons in measurement, consulting, research, planning, writing, social and digital media, presentations, project management, proposal development and more.
PR professionals are being practiced by many of our seasoned professors. They bring their day-to-day encounters and jobs to the classroom, offering a peek into communications trends and problems. Business guest speakers offer insight into daily life in a variety of PR settings.
You’ll also have use of networking, mentoring and career and professional development from two key industry organizations: the Canadian Public Relations Society and also the International Association of Business Communicators.
The program advisory committee, which will be comprised of active PR professionals representing a range of organizations and business sectors, critiques and consistently reviews our curriculum to ensure your learning is definitely on the frontier of industry developments.
